What the Greensboro Sports Foundation collects through this website, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

This website is run by the Greensboro Sports Foundation (GSF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at 2411 West Gate City Boulevard, Suite C, Greensboro, NC 27403. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean GSF.

Information you give us

We only collect personal information when you choose to send it to us through a form on this site:

Contact and general questions: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and message.
Host an event inquiries: your name, organization, contact details and the details of the event you are planning.
Champions Alliance and partnership inquiries: your name, organization and contact details.
Volunteer sign-up: your name, contact details, T-shirt size, age group, general availability and anything you tell us about yourself.
Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
Donations and Champions Alliance gifts: your name, contact details, mailing address, gift amount and frequency, and any gift options you choose (for example, a gift in someone’s honor or an employer match).

Card and payment details are entered directly into a secure payment field provided by Stripe. They go straight to Stripe and are never stored on our website or seen by GSF.

How we use it

To answer your questions and follow up on your inquiry.
To plan and staff events, including contacting volunteers about upcoming opportunities.
To process donations and Champions Alliance gifts, send receipts and, for annual gifts, renew them each year.
To send our newsletter and event updates, but only if you ask to receive them.
To keep records we are required to keep as a nonprofit, such as donation records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the people and services that help us do the work you contacted us about:

Visit Greensboro, our partner in attracting and hosting events, receives host-an-event and partnership inquiries so we can respond to them together.
Stripe processes donations and payments under its own privacy policy.
Constant Contact manages our newsletter list if you sign up for email updates.
WP Engine hosts this website and the form submissions stored on it.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and similar technology

This site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as remembering an announcement you have dismissed and keeping the payment form secure. Stripe uses its own cookies on the Give Now page to help prevent fraud, and the map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps, which may set cookies of its own. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add website analytics in the future, we will update this page.

Email updates

If you opt in to our newsletter or event updates, every email includes a link to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to remove you at any time using the contact details below.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to respond to you, run our events and programs, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Donation records are kept as required for nonprofit tax purposes.

Keeping it secure

This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to submitted information is limited to GSF staff who need it. No method of sending or storing information online is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Young people

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Volunteers under 18 may sign up to serve alongside a parent or guardian.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. To do so, email [email protected], call 336-335-1591, or write to Greensboro Sports Foundation, 2411 West Gate City Boulevard, Suite C, Greensboro, NC 27403.

This site links to other organizations, such as event partners, venues and ticket sellers. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies when you visit them.
